Toughen glass installation

Toughen glass installation

Toughened glass installation (often referred to as tempered glass installation) is a process that involves setting up glass panels that have been heat-treated to increase their strength and durability. Toughened glass is widely used in both residential and commercial settings due to its strength, safety, and ability to withstand high levels of stress and pressure. It is commonly installed in applications such as windows, doors, shower enclosures, glass railings, facades, glass tabletops, and automotive windows.
What is Toughened (Tempered) Glass?
Toughened glass is made by heating standard glass to a high temperature (around 650°C or 1200°F) and then rapidly cooling it using air blasts. This process puts the outer surfaces of the glass into compression and makes the inner portion of the glass undergo tension. As a result, the glass becomes much stronger than regular glass and is more resistant to breakage from impacts or temperature fluctuations. When toughened glass breaks, it shatters into small, blunt pieces rather than sharp shards, making it safer than regular glass, which can break into jagged edges.
